Device-to-Device Communication in the Internet of Things QSIURP Report

With the quick evolution of the Internet of Things, the research community’s interest is rising in device-to-device communication. In this research, we study the device-to-device communication capabilities of the Intel Edison devices over Wi-Fi and Bluetooth and we compare the Edison devices’ performance to that of the Raspberry-Pi devices. Further, we explore potential uses of this communication model by trying to deploy it on a specific CPS application: Up and Away, a wireless UAV cyber-physical test-bed developed in Carnegie Mellon Qatar’s Networking Systems Lab.
